Altea Therapeutics raised the largest venture capital deal in Georgia in 2005 and thus was recognized as executing the “Deal of the Year” by the Georgia Biomedical Partnership.
Altea raised $32.8 million in its third round of financing. Lead investor was Aperture Venture Partners. Previous investors Domain, Venrock, vSpring Capital, KBC, Quilvest, CX Ventures and Rockport Ventures also contributed.
Altea has developed transdermal patches for the delivery of proteins and water-soluble drugs.
The Georgia Biomedical Partnership will recognize Altea at an awards dinner on Jan. 13.
