RESTON,Sprint Nextel is buying its wireless affiliate Enterprise Communications Partnership in Columbus, GA in a deal worth some $100 million.
Sprint is paying $98 million, including assumption of debt, to acquire some 52,000 wireless subscribers. The coverage area includes portions of Alabama and Georgia with a potential subscriber base of more than 825,000 people.
Sprint Nextel will pay another $2 million to acquire some wireless spectrum from Enterprise Communications Partnership, which employs some 80 people.
