Stelios Papadopoulos, vice chairman of SG Cowen and a veteran investment banker, will be the keynote speaker for the Council for Entrepreneurial Development’s annual Biotech Confernce.
The 15th annual event is set for May 22-23 in Winson-Salem.
Papadopoulos focuses on biotechnology and pharmaceutical firms. He joined SG Cowen in 2000 after 13 years as an investment banker at PaineWebber. He has also helped co-found three companies.
“Dr. Papadopoulos has years of experience in the life science sector,” said Targacept’s CEO Donald deBethizy, co-chair of Biotech 2006. “Given his deep knowledge of both the science and business of biotech, Dr. Papadopoulos will offer a unique and valuable perspective when he speaks at this year’s conference.”
