Charlotte — Charlotte-based HouseRaising, a publicly traded home builder, announced on Tuesday that it is launching a software offering aimed at homebuilders. The company said that it has spent $10 million over the last five years in developing the software, called System C.

“Unlike technology companies that sell or license software, HouseRaising owns its patent-pending software and maintains full control over its use,” the company said in a statement.

The company said the new offering should help to diversify its revenue streams.
