DonorsChooseNC Receives $25,000 Grant from Burroughs Wellcome Fund

DonorsChooseNC, an affiliate of DonorsChoose, has received a $25,000 grant from the Burroughs Wellcome Fund.

The group plans to use the money for programs in North Carolina schools.

The DonorsChooseNC group recently played a key role in DonorsChoose winning a competition sponsored by Amazon.com for a $1 million grant.

“We are delighted to partner with DonorsChoose to encourage math, science, and technology education in North Carolina schools,” said Enriqueta Bond, president of the Burroughs Wellcome Fund. “This state has wonderful teachers and eager students interested in learning more about these subjects. Together with DonorsChoose, we can help teachers get the resources they need to offer stimulating activities for students.”

The North Carolina group has raised more than $610,000 which has been used in 1,751 projects.
