6th Sense Software, a startup that plans to unveil itself this fall having been operating in stealth mode, is already making headlines.

The Raleigh-based firm has raised $750,000 in a projected first-round of $1.5 million financing. Among the investors is Intersouth Partners, according to Private Equity Wire.

6th Sense says on its web site that the company was founded by “veterans of the application development market” in 2004.

The firm is also seeking applicants for job openings.

6th Sense says it has developed a means for customers “to measure and analyze the effectiveness of their software development process to improve their operational predictability and optimize their software development investment”.

The firm has embraced a dictionary definition of sixth sense as part of its marketing: “A keen insight; grasping the inner nature of things intuitively.”

The company is based at 1001 Canterbury Road in Raleigh.

Private Equity Wire first reported the funding, citing a regulatory filing.
