Alex Bloom, a former executive with Verizon Wireless, is the latest executive to be added to the management team at Motricity, a developer and provider of mobile content and solutions.
Bloom joins Motricity as vice president of content and developer services.
Motricity has added several executives in recent months following the closing on a new round of venture capital.
Bloom has more than 11 years of experience in the wireless sector and six years of experience in working with mobile content. His most recent position at Verizon was as director of content and programming. He had also served as manager of content and applications. Before joining Verizion, Bloom spent six years with GTE Wireless in Atlanta.
“With his broad experience and clear expertise in the industry, Alex Bloom will be an invaluable addition to the Motricity team,” said Ryan Wuerch, chairman and chief executive officer of Motricity, in a statement. “His notable success at industry leader Verizon Wireless indicates his ability to bring Motricity to the front of the mobile content ecosystem.”
Bloom is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a degree in marketing.
“I’m excited to not only continue but extend my involvement and relationships across the content community,” said Bloom. “I see Motricity as ideally positioned to drive distribution of mobile content across all platforms and devices, and I look forward to supporting my friends and colleagues in the content community in driving revenues across the mobile medium.”
