Mobile content provider Motricity has hired former Best Buy eCommerce director Kathleen Stockham to the position of vice president of Commerce. The appointment is directly related to Motricity’s strategy of penetrating specific mobile market segments by hiring high-profile experts from each area of market focus.

Most recently, Stockham served as marketing director for, where she managed the entire online direct response operations and outbound programs for one of retail’s largest and most powerful brands. Prior to her position at, Stockham was vice president of marketing for American City Business Journals, the largest publisher of business journals throughout 41 major cities.

Stockham is widely recognized by the media and has been interviewed and quoted in such national publications as Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, iMedia, Forrester and The New York Times, among others. She is also regularly invited to speak at numerous industry events each year throughout the country.
