COLUMBIA,The State of South Carolina launched a new official web site on Tuesday.

The site can be found at www.sc.gov

“This new portal is one of the first steps in enabling South Carolina government to deliver services to the public in a convenient and cost-effective way,” said Barbara Teusink, Deputy Chief Information Officer of the State Budget and Control Board. “Our goal with SC.gov is to be the first place where people come for all their governmental needs.”

The redesign includes several navigation changes and groupings of services.

Other new features include a “How Do I?” section on taxes, starting a business or getting a licenses; Google search; a help center and a photo gallery.

The state worked with South Carolina Interactive, a Columbia-based subsidiary of eGovernment firm NIC (Nasdaq: EGOV) to build the site.
