IBM is acquiring DataPower, a developer focusing on products that improve the security and speed of transaction processing.
The move is designed to boost IBM’s service-oriented architecture (SOA) commitment, NewsFactor reports. SOA is an approach that lets companies create business processes from reusable, open-standards-based software components that operate independently from applications and computing platforms. “The approach is intended to improve the performance, security, and management of business processes,” NewsFactor says.
