Red Hat is rolling out a new Red Hat Certified Security Specialist program focused on enterprise Linux servers.

Red Hat already offers certified engineer and certified architect programs. The three are part of its “Security in a Networked World” initiative.

The Linux software developer and solutions provider describes the security specialist offering as “the first performance based certification focused on security competency for enterprise Linux servers”. It includes training and exams for:

  • Securing network services

  • Setting up directory services and authentication, as well as single sign-on

  • SELinux security policy administration

  • Specializations in certificate management and in configuring firewall and VPN solutions
