Brian Stevens, an executive with Red Hat for the past four years, is the new chief technology officer for the Linux software and services provider.

Stevens has served as vice president of operating system, storage and clustering development. He has more than 20 years of experience in IT. Among his previous jobs was CTO of Mission Critical Linux.

In his new role, Stevens will also serve as Red Hat’s vice president of engineering. He will be based in Red Hat’s office in Westford MA.

He earned a Masters in computer systems from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Hampshire.
