CipherTrust, which develops messaging security solutions, is rolling out applications covering instant messaging.
Its IronIM solution establishes CipherTrust as the first vendor to offer gateway security appliances for both e-mail and instant message communications, the company said.
The application is designed to give administrators increased control from a single platform to block instant messaging threats and to help ensure compliance with corporate policies as well as industry and government regulations.
“Today’s businesses are struggling with more than just threats to their e-mail environment,” said Jay Chaudhry, CipherTrust’s chief executive officer. “The real-time, interactive nature of instant messaging makes it a valuable tool for collaborative efforts with business partners, customers and fellow employees, but at the same time it is a significant liability when not properly secured and managed.”
