US Networks, a provider of managed network and security services, has been sold to a Connecticut-based firm.

Perimeter Internetworking bought US Networks in September but did not announce the deal until Oct. 6.

Perimeter also has locations in Charlotte and Fort Lauderdale FL. Its headquarters is in Milford CT. The company has made five acquisitions over the past two years.

“You cannot separate availability and performance from security and clients today expect one trusted provider to address all issues related to their network,” said Brad Miller, chief executive officer of Perimeter. “In that respect Perimeter will leverage US Networks’ cross-functional expertise in dealing with network security, network management and helpdesk while US Networks’ clients will benefit from an additional 50 managed security services beyond managed firewall, IDS and email anti-virus. Perimeter will also adopt a newly developed email content filtering service developed by US Networks.”
