WILMINGTON,aaiPharma, which declared bankruptcy in May and sold off its pharmaceutical division in July, added three executives to its management team on Wednesday.

Vito Mangiardi, a former executive with Quintiles, joins aaiPharma as president of North American Operations. Two other drug industry veterans, Martin Hunicutt and Pete Megronigle, were named senior vice president of global integrated solutions and senior vice president of business development for North America respectively.

aaiPharma (Pink sheets: AAIIQ) has been in bankruptcy since May 10. It sold the pharmaceutical division in July for $209.25 million.

Mangiardi’s most recent position was as senior vice president and chief operating officer for the Late Phase Unit at Quintiles.

Hunicutt worked for aaiPharma between 1994-1998 in various roles and also worked for Quintiles at one time. His most recent position was as executive vice president of marketing and business development for Mylan Bertek Pharmaceuticals.

Mergronigle was vice president and head of North American Health Management Services at Innovex before joining aaiPharma.

Ludo Reynders, president and CEO of aaiPharma, is also a former Quintiles executive.
