Life Science Business Development Professionals of North Carolina is the new name for the N.C. Bio Pharma Business Development Group.

The organization, which includes some 200 members, announced its name change on Monday.

Also, the life science group said it has forged working relationships with the Council for Entrepreneurial Development and the NC Biotechnology Venter “to increase the variety and scope of its monthly meetings”.

The group, which was formed in 2002, will have its next meeting on Sept. 22 starting at 5:15 PM at EMD Pharmaceuticals in Durham.

“We are pleased that the Biotechnology Center and CED have recognized the value of our Business Development group in the life sciences community of North Carolina,” said Bob Keefer, chairman of the group’s steering committee and partner of TCG-BioPharma in Durham. “This will enable us to use their coordination capabilities to reach out to more members.”
