Lenovo is launching its first widescreen multimedia ThinkPad laptop PC as part of its Z-Series.
The ThinkPads will be available in October.
The ThinkPad Z60m model comes with a 15.4-inch screen and will be available on Oct. 11. Prices start at $799.
The Z60t has a 14-inch screen and will be available in October. Prices begin at $1099.
Both models are pre-equipped for use with Verizon Wireless broadband technology. Models include Evolution Data Optimized (EV-DO)(5) wireless wide area network (WWAN) antennas for connecting to the Verizon network.
The laptop is 1.1 inches thick and weighs 4.2 pounds.
“ThinkPad Z-Series is designed for mobile and small business users who rely on one notebook computer for both work and life demands,” the company said.
Lenovo is also offering a titanium cover laptop in addition to the traditional black model.
The Z-Series also offers what it calls a “roll cage” — an inner armor chassis that “reduces the amount of stress on internal components when the notebook is dropped by up to 30 percent”.
