Jill Maurer, the co-founder of SlickEdit, has won portions of her suit against former SAS executive Andre Boisvert, The News & Observer reported on Wednesday.

A jury in Wake County handed down a $1.6 million award to Maurer last week in the dispute over her dismissal as chief executive officer of the Morrisville-based software firm.

Maurer still owns 42.5 percent of SlickEdit stock, according to court filings. She co-founded the company along with her former husband, Clark Maurer.

An attorney represent Boisvert, who is chairman of SlickEdit, plans to appeal, The N&O said.

On Aug. 12, the North Carolina Business Court ruled in favor or Maurer who was seeking payment of bonuses and salary.

Local Tech Wire first reported on the lawsuit involving Maurer on Aug. 11. At that time, Eric Boisvert told LTW that it would in inappropriate for her to comment on the case.

The Business Court ruling was disclosed the next day.
