Research Triangle Park — The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) is partnering with the region’s entrepreneurial community to support the American Heart Association’s 2005 Triangle Metro Heart Walk.

The event is October 16 and is designed to raise awareness and support in advance of the Heart Walk. CED has planned a “Social on the Lawn” on September 15th from 2-5 p.m. at CED’s office in the RTP. All are invited to attend this informal gathering, which will feature light refreshments, drinks, kickball, volleyball, music and networking. The cost to attend CED’s Lawn Party is $10, with all proceeds benefiting the American Heart Association.

“Heart disease is one of the top killers of men and women in America. Our community can tackle this problem by putting energy and resources into the Heart Walk,” said Shaffer, who is co-chairing the 2005 Triangle Metro Heart Walk. “I encourage everyone to lend their support and bring awareness to the importance of physical activity and a healthy lifestyle.”

CED encourages the community to create teams. For additional information on donating to the Heart Walk or creating a team through CED, contact CED’s Alison Mackie at (919) 549-7500 x 117 or
