SlickEdit, Red Hat and IBM are up for “Product Excellence Awards” at the LinuxWorld conference in San Francisco.

SlickEdit, which is based in Morrisville, is one of four finalists in the Best Application Development Platform or Tool for its SlickEdit v10 product.

Raleigh-based Red Hat is a finalist for Best Clustering Solution for its Global File System and in Best Security Solutions for its Directory Server.

IBM is a finalist in several categories, including Best Server (IBM eServer xSeries 366); Best Database Solution (DB2 8.2.2 Optimized for SAP); Best Open Source Solution (Derby 10.1); Best Utility/Grid (IBM grid and grow Offering); Best Systems Management Tools (Tivoli Intelligent Orchestrator).
