Ronald DeLange, a former executive with Lucent technologies, is the new president and general manager of the network signaling group at Tekelec.
Tekelec develops and manufactures telecommunications gear. In his position, Delange will oversee Tekelec’s core infrastructure business.
DeLange was most recently vice president of convergence solutions at Lucent and has been involved in sales, marketing, finance as well as manufacturing. He worked 24 years at Lucent.
“A seasoned industry executive, he brings significant leadership experience in softswitching and next-generation technologies, including IMS (Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem) and VoIP (Voice over IP), technologies that are key to the success of our Real Convergence strategy,” said Fred Lax, chief executive officer of Tekelec, about DeLange. “Real Convergence combines our signaling strength with our growing leadership in the total next-generation switching and applications space to provide our customers with powerful IMS solutions.”
DeLange will replace Monty Johnson, who the company said is “returning to Atlanta for family considerations and to pursue other business opportunities”.
