SAS is rolling out a new product, the “Forecast Server” which it says is designed to help businesses improve accuracy of forecasts and management of the forecast process.
The server, which includes patent-pending technology, includes business intelligence applications such as “time series mining” that SAS said uncovers “time-related patterns and trends” as well as an interactive user interface designed for “easy forecasting”.
SAS announced the server at its Forum International in Lisbon, Portugal.

SAS also announced that Whirlpool Corp. has installed Warranty Analysis and SAS Text Miner applications as part of its efforts to reduce warranty costs and improve customer loyalty.

SAS also named the University Hospital Aachen in Aachen, Germany, received its annual Enterprise Intelligence award. The hospital deployed a strategic performance management information system from SAS. The award is given to a SAS client that demonstrates gains in productivity, cost or time savings, or achievement of organization or business goals in using SAS products.
