Teleglobe, a provider of wholesale network services in more than 240 countries, will use signaling gear from Tekelec to provide services for mobile networks and international calls.

Tekelec said Thursday that Teleglobe has decided to deploy its Eagle 5 signaling application system gear within its network backbone. The Eagle 5 is used to provide enhanced management of signaling over Internet Protocol networks as well as advanced screening and routing capabilities, according to Tekelec.

“Tekelec’s leading signaling capabilities help us maintain our position as a premier mobile roaming service interconnect provider and support new applications,” said Henri Alexandre, vice president of engineering at Teleglobe, in a statement. “With the Eagle platform, we will continue to enable operators around the world to deploy the advanced services their subscribers demand.”
