Wave7 Optics, a provider of fiber-to-the premises services for high-speed data and multimedia services, has won a contract with Valley Telecom Group in Willcox AZ.
The telecom will use “Last Mile Link” gear from Wave7 to deliver Internet Protocol-based voice, television and data services to some 7,000 homes and businesses.
The project is funded in part by a loan from the Rural Utilities Service.
Valley will also provide fiber services in Playas, NM, where New Mexico Tech University is modeling disaster simulations as part of a contract with the US Department of Homeland Security. Playas was abandoned when a smelter in the community was closed.
