Sports Illustrated Swimsuit images provided by Summus, a developer of wireless content and applications, have proved to be a big seller for Sprint PCS customers.
Some 500,000 images have been sold to the wireless network’s customers, Sprint PCS and Summus said on Monday.
Other sellers reaching 500,000 or more in sales and thus receiving “Gold” status from Sprinjt include SpongeBob Square Pants, BlingPix, Socially Hazardous and Devil Art.
“Mobile phones are a fun and very personal device that most of us carry everyday,” said John Burris, director of wireless data services for Sprint. “Many people want that device to reflect their likes, hobbies and affiliations, and Sprint offers fun and unique content that meet these customer interests.”
