Sprint PCS and Cingular customers can opt in to receive free ‘AMBER Alerts” from law enforcement agencies about missing children.
The service is available to Sprint PCS and Cingular users who have phones capable of receiving text messages.
Both companies are working with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children to offer the service.
To sign up, customers can go to either www.sprint.com or www.cingular.com/AMBERalerts
or www.wirelessamberalerts.org and select up to five zip codes.
