Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice is adding five attorneys to its Charlotte office. All are coming to the firm from rival Morris Manning & Martin.
Womble Carlyle said the attorneys will expand its corporate and securities practice group.
“The addition of these lawyers will allow us to do an even better job of serving businesses in and around Charlotte, particularly middle-market businesses and emerging companies, which is a core strength of this new group,” said Mike Barnhill, managing member of Womble Carlyle’s Charlotte office, in a statement.
The Corporate and Securities Practice Group focuses on evaluating, structuring and negotiating business transactions, including venture capital financings, initial public offerings, corporate spin-offs, mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances and joint ventures.
Making the move are: Bob Donlon, who served as Morris Manning’s managing partner in Charlotte; Jeff Haywill, Tom Price, Brit Young and Brandy Berry.
