Overture Networks is adding two new products to its Ethernet high-speed network product suite.
The ISG 140 and ISG 180 products are designed to help network providers use existing copper line infrastructure to reach customer locations that do not have access to high-speed fiber backbones.
Overture, citing figures from Vertical Systems Group, says 90 percent of business locations in the U.S. do not yet have access to fiber. The market for Ethernet services is estimated to reach $1.4 billion by 2008.
Overture’s new products offer between 10 and 100 Ethernet ports for access.
