MySQL AB, developer of open source data base tools, and Red Hat are expanding their partnership to offer more Linux services to enterprise users.

Tackling “scale-out” issues for networks, MySQL and Red Hat said they would offer high-powered clustering solutions and technical support.

“Our companies share many customers in common, so it is natural to step up our collaboration to deliver more integrated, reliable and affordable solutions to the market,” said Michael Tiemann, vice president of Open Source Affairs at Red Hat.

MySQL said the firms’ joint efforts are designed for high-volume web sites and data warehouses along with other business applications.
