ChannelAdvisor is going global.
The provider of channel management solutions for retailers and businesses seeking to use online sites such as eBay and Overstock.com, said Thursday morning that it had acquired Germany-based firms AuktionMaster and SpeedSell.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“These acquisitions not only bring ChannelAdvisor exposure to this huge marketplace (Germany) and thousands of new subscribers, but also gives us the ability to share local marketplace opportunities with our clients and accelerate their success,” said Scott Wingo, chief executive officer of ChannelAdvisor, in a statement.
The deal positions ChannelAdvisor as the first “global eBay certified solution provider,” a spokesperson told Local Tech Wire.
ChannelAdvisor launched an aggressive international growth campaign in February, opening an office in the United Kingdom. The company also recently reached a deal with Overstock.com, expanding beyond its eBay customer base.
AuktionMaster and SpeedSell provide eBay certified applications and auction management services to customers in Germany.
Wingo cited the size of the German eBay market as a reason for the deal. “eBay Germany is the largest marketplace outside of the United States,” he said.
The deal creates a company whose technology will be utilized in more than $70 million in gross merchandise volume per month, ChannelAdvisor said.
SpeedSell focuses on smaller businesses seeking product listing and checkout functionality.
AuktionMaster has developed a product suite called AuktionMaster.NET. The product is used in 16 eBay marketplaces, providing automated checkout, stock management, multiple payment options and shipping. AuktionMaster also works with Amazon Germany.
AuktionMaster employs 27 people and has offices in Berlin as well as Bacharach.
