LXE, a developer of wireless products and technologies, has formed a partnership to produce radio frequency identification technology to be mounted on forklifts.

LXE said it is working and Intel and Sirit to help companies deploy tracking and inventory information throughout warehouses. The project includes antennae and RFID readers.

The system will use new network processors from Intel called IXP4XX. Sirit provides the reader modules.

“As companies move beyond pure compliance operations, it becomes evident that a robust, reliable implementation for forklift-based operations is required,” said Dick Sorenson, LXE director of product management. “With a mutual commitment to open standards, we’ve got the right teammates in Sirit and Intel with complementary skills to meet the challenge.”
