Internap Network Services, a provider of Internet network traffic solutions, is launching a professional services group.

The networking firm said the group would focus on helping clients “build and optimize” networks based on Internet Protocol technology.

A point of emphasis will be to help companies deploy or make better use of using multiple paths, or multi-homing, over the Internet as a means of providing redundancy and other benefits, Internap said in a statement.

“This team, with years of complex IP network experience and the most up-to-date network optimization skills and tools, will work with companies on a consultative basis to both optimize existing multi-homed networks and help companies build redundant, resilient and efficient infrastructures,” said Dave Abrahamson, vice president of sales for Internap. “The combination of technical expertise, field tested processes and market-leading technologies will enable companies to confidently deploy Internet-based business-critical applications.”
