Ernst & Young is now seeking nominations for its annual Entrepreneur of the Year program.

E&Y has honored winners in a variety of business categories over the past 18 years.

Regional programs, such as the one covering the Carolinas, picks winners based on selections from a panel of independent judges. Regional winners will compete for national honors later this year.

Eligible contestants include owners or managers of private or public companies who are primarily responsible for performance of those firms and are active in management. Nominations are due by April 8.

Winners will be selected in: media and entertainment; consumer and business services; defense and security; financial services; hospitality, real estate, construction; technology; health sciences; networking and communications; manufacturing and distribution; and retail and consumer products.
