WINSTON-Dell kicked off construction of its new manufacturing facility in the Triad on Wednesday with a groundbreaking ceremony.
The plant will cover 527,000 square feet and will employ some 1,500 people. Dell recently selected the 189-acre site in Winston-Salem’s Alliance Science and Technology site.
Dell also has manufacturing facilities in Tennessee and Texas,
Travis Simpson, vice president of manufacturing operations for Dell, will manage day-to-day operations at the plant, Dell said.
