StrikeIron is adding Microsoft Excel services to its growing product line of on-demand web services.
The application is designed to reduce the number of manual steps required for accessing data within Excel spreadsheets.
“StrikeIron’s product is a great example of the power that comes from building connected systems with Web services,” said Dave Mendlen, director of web services marketing for Microsoft, in a statement. “Connecting remote systems in a smart client like Excel combines the power of the desktop with the flexibility of Web services to give users richer, more responsive, and more productive access to information.”
The service enables “drag and drop” capabilities to bring together data from multiple sources to create additional spreadsheets and applications, StrikeIron said.
