Cingular is teaming up with palmOne and three solution providers for a high-speed wireless service focused on healthcare services.
The combined effort of Cingular’s Edge network, a new mobile data device from palmOne and the applications from Epocrates, HealthRamp and PatientKeeper was announced Tuesday at a healthcare trade show in Dallas.
The palmOne Treo 650, which retails for $350, is a mobile phone with capabilities for email, messaging, and web access capabilities plus a Palm operating system organizer and digital camera.
PatientKeeper offers clinical and patient records, mobile dictation, service charge and other applications. Epocrates offers drug, disease and diagnostic access capabilities. HealthRamp provides prescription ordering capability that is compliant with federal healthcare record requirements.
