FairPoint Communications, a provider of telecommunications services in mostly small-town and rural markets, went public on Friday at a share price of $18.50.
The stock (NYSE: FRP) traded down 45 cents, closing at $18.05.
FairPoint had priced its IPO at between $18-22 per share and issued 25 million shares.
