Driven by customer growth, Peak 10 says it is expanding the size of its data operations center servicing the Research triangle market by more than 60 percent.

The center is located in Morrisville.

Part of the recent growth includes a partnership with TelCove, a provider of fiber network services.

TelCove, which has a 50-city network, picked Peak 10 to act as its hub for business services in and around RTP, including service at the American Tobacco complex in Durham.

Peak 10 said the expansion in RTP would also provide additional redundancy and support for customers at its other centers in Charlotte, Louisville, Tampa and Jacksonville FL. Peak 10 maintains its own network linking the facilities.

“We have great affinity for the Research Triangle market and have always placed high expectations on our operations in the region,” said David Jones, president and chief executive officer of Peak 10, in a statement. “The expansion of our Raleigh data center is in line with the growth targets we set two years ago and is a direct result of high end customer growth and demand for managed services including disaster recovery, managed storage and security.”
