William Kerr, the chief financial officer at Nortel who had been asked to help new Chief Executive Officer Bill Owens unravel financial woes at Nortel, is leaving.

Also departing is MaryAnne Pahapill, the firm’s controller. Nortel said she had accepted a position with another firm.

Replacing Kerr on Feb. 14 will be Peter Currie, who was vice chairman and CFO at RBC Financial Group. He is a former Nortel executive.

Nortel said that Kerr would remain a senior advisor to Owens, at Owens’ request.
