Near-Time, a developer of content management software, has released a new product that is designed to help individual consumers create and manage digital content.

Near Time Current permits creation and editing of content gained through a web browser and through several different sources at the same time.

“Application files of all types, including QuickTime, photos, html pages, and mp3 files, can be stored and launched within Current,” the company said in a statement.

Near-Time said its software eliminates the need for different stand-alone applications.

“We have developed Current to help people maximize the power of the Internet for the development of their own content,” said Reid Conrad, president and CEO of Near-Time. “Current combines the best features of word processing, RSS reading, weblog publishing, and knowledge management tools eliminating the need for several stand-alone applications. It’s an exciting new tool for the Mac community.”
