eOn Communications is buying Aelix Systems, a firm that developers systems and applications based on Internet Protocol technology.

eOn, who develops voice, email and web-based communications and systems, said it would issue 10,000 shares of stock to acquire Aleix. eOn stock (Nasdaq: EONC) was trading at $2.50 per share in Thursday trading.

eOn said it will set up a new subsidiary that in turn would acquire Aelix assets and intellectual property rights. Another 215,000 shares of eOn stock will be issued if certain goals are met, eOn said in a statement.

Aelix has employees in the United States and India.
