AirDefense, a developer of wireless security applications, and Lancope, a developer of network intrusion detection systems, are the Technology of the Year winner in their respective product categories as selected by InfoWorld.

InfoWorld recognizes winners in nine separate categories based on reviews of almost 300 products.

Other winners include EMC and IBm, which have major operations in North Carolina, and NetApp, which is establishing a presence in RTP.

“The InfoWorld Technology of the Year award acknowledges the best and brightest enterprise products that have fundamentally altered the IT landscape,” said Doug Dineley, reviews editor for InfoWorld, in a statement. “Those products named Technology of the Year are members of an elite group.”

Among Air Defense partners are Cisco and IBM.
