SAS and Datatrak International are launching a joint product designed to help life science companies make better use of data gathered in clinical trials.
The Datatrak Aware — Powered by SAS will be offered through an application service provider format.
Datatrak focuses on ASP offerings in electronic data capture. SAS will provide the business intelligence applications in the joint product.
Customers will receive updates on trials in analysis-ready format every 24 hours through the Internet. “Such speed, easy access and immediate analytic capabilities do not exist in the clinical trials market today with any other approach,” the companies said in a statement.
The product was based in part on information gathered in meetings with focus groups of several potential customers.
“SAS believes in developing technological and analytical approaches that reduce the cost of clinical trials and the time it takes to bring therapies to market,” said Kecia Serwin, general manager of SAS’ Health and Life Sciences group. “Our joint offering with DATATRAK helps life sciences organizations streamline the clinical trials process by providing a unique and affordable platform for capturing, analyzing, reporting and storing clinical trials data.”
