Betty Feth, an employee at Misys Healthcare Systems since 1985, is the new president of the Homecare Systems Group, one of four business units at Misys Healthcare.

Feth replaces Keith Sturges, who was named to a new position — chief marketing officer. He will handle marketing for all of the Healthcare operations.

“This is definitely due to growth in the homecare area and in the Healthcare Systems group in general,” Mike Truell, a spokesman for Misys Healthcare, told Local Tech Wire.

“From a marketing perspective, most of that has been done in the respective units in the past,” he explained. “We decided we needed a unified marketing presence for the four units — physicians systems, homecare, hospital and transaction services.”

Feth “knows the homecare business inside out,” Truell added. The division focuses on services to home health, hospice and private healthcare organizations.

Three of the Misys groups representing some 755 employees are based in Raleigh. The transaction services group is based in Austin, TX.

“Betty’s deep understanding of the overall healthcare market and success as vice president of operations for our Homecare business made her a logical choice to head the group,” said Tom Skelton, chief executive officer for Misys Healthcare Systems, in a statement. “She has a proven performance track record, strong leadership skills, and an innate ability to cultivate talent – all of which are tremendous assets to our company.”

Sturges was senior vice president for Virtual Information Systems, a portal and financial software company, and senior vice president for sales and marketing at Superscape. He also was a vice president for advanced services at Oracle.

“We now need to strengthen our overall brand awareness to reflect the size of our footprint,” Sturges explained in a statement. “In competitive sales situations, we typically win – based on our innovative, easy-to-use and feature-rich solutions. And we need to make sure the market is aware of these strengths across all care settings so our name is top of mind when considering healthcare IT solutions. That’s what we’re going to do.”
