IBM, AMD Create New Process To Boost Chips

NewsFactor reports that IBM and AMD have teamed to create a chip-making process that could increase processor speeds by 24 percent. The process, called “dual stress liner,” boosts performance by improving the flow of electrons on the chip, NewsFactor says.
