Morris, Manning & Martin, one of the largest law firms in the Southeast with a special emphasis on high-tech firms, is opening an office in Research Triangle Park.

Keith Burns, a former partner in the Durham law firm of Faison & Gillespie, will run the Triangle operation.

The office is the second in North Carolina for Morris, Manning & Martin, which has its headquarters in Atlanta. It opened a Charlotte office four years ago.

To the RTP entrepreneurial and tech communities, the law firm is a familiar name.

“We have long served some of the businesses located in the Raleigh-Durham-Research Triangle Park area,” said Bob Saudek, managing partner of Morris, Manning & Martin. “We believe that this location offers a great opportunity to expand our reach and provide our unique services to a growing list of clients.”

The firm has a Technology Group, which is led by John Yates.

“Based on our previous positive experiences, we expect to see continued success in the RTP area,” Yates said. “Our primary goal is to help businesses grow.”

Burns is a graduate of the Wake Forest University School of Law. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
