GREER,BMW Group Data Center Americas has signed a multi-year, multi-million-dollar contract with Sprint for data networking services.

The Sprint network will be used to link BMW’s 31 offices in the US, including the manufacturing plant near Greer.

Sprint said it would deploy an Internet Protocol based network and use Cisco hardware for virtual private network configuration.

“Network reliability and performance are critical to our ability to conduct business efficiently,” said Danny Marzka, senior network engineer with BMW Group Data Center Americas, in a statement. “Sprint offers the security of the peerless IP network, as well as the breadth of services, network assets and relationships to meet our other communications needs.
