Lab Corp Expands Electronic Records Offerings

BURLINGTON,Laboratory Corporation (NYSE” LH) is expanding its electronic medical records offerings with a chart-based lab order entry and results delivery system.

The FirstChart product is part of a joint effort with Allscripts Healthcare Solutions. It includes LabCorp’s processing abilities with Allscript’s electronic medical record technology.

LabCorp said the new product is designed to help customers move to electronic records for prescriptions, document imaging and other applications.

LabCorp also has added a number of consultants to assist medical organizations that are exploring electronic records technology.
