Vela McClam-Mitchell and Terriann Shockley, former executives at WorldSpan, have teamed up to launch Market Designs, a marketing and information technology consulting firm.
The company combines market research, proprietary financial and technical modeling tools as part of its offering and has recruited a team of and a team of consultants who have worked in multi-channel distribution.
McClam-Mitchell is president and chief executive officer, and Shockley is vice president of operations. Consultants include former executives and directors of Worldspan and Bank of America, the company said
Market Designs launched earlier this year and has already worked with several clients. The company made a formal debut on Tuesday with its press announcement. Clients include two online travel web sites, a travel agency consortium, a low-fare airline and a travel distribution network.
McClam-Mitchell was senior vice president and general manager
of Worldspan’s Worldwide Travel Supplier Solutions Group.
Shockley worked with Worldspan’s eCommerce division as director of
marketing and financial analysis.
