IBM is the market leader in Internet infrastructure providers for the second straight year, reports Tier 1 Research.
IBM held 17.9 percent of the web hosting market in 2003 and statistics compiled so far this year indicate IBM will top 20 percent market share for 2004, triple that of its closest competitor, the firm said. In the second quarter, IBM produced $470 million in revenue, a 12 percent increase from the previous quarter and 30 percent higher than for the same period in 2003.
Tier 1 defines the infrastructure market as including collocation hosting, dedicated hosting and utility computing services.
